Taking the Cyber Maturity Assessment

Introduction

There are 19 questions in the Cyber Maturity Assessment that will help you measure and understand your organization’s cybersecurity posture. They are sub-divided across the three Security Areas: People, Process and Technology. Work through the questions with your team and try to be as honest as you can to get the most accurate picture of your organization’s strengths and opportunities. Remember, there is no right answer for each question since every organization has different needs.

The answers to these questions will not affect your insurance terms, and we do not share your responses unless you decide to engage with one of our trusted partners.

Navigating to the Cyber Maturity Questionnaire

Once you log into Cyber Safety, the Cyber Maturity card is on top of the dashboard home page. Use that to navigate to the assessment. Clicking from the Cyber Maturity card will allow you to start, finish or update the assessment depending on your assessment completion.

Another way to access the assessment is navigating to Cyber Maturity on the left navigation bar. This will bring up your Cyber Maturity Report. From here, you can also navigate to start, finish or update your questionnaire.

Introduction to the Security Areas

The Cyber Maturity assessment is split into three sections based on security areas People, Process and Technology. In front of each Security Area section, you will find an introduction to that Security Area. Read through the brief description to get an idea of the Security Area and questions that are coming up. Start answering questions in the security area by clicking the Next Question button on the bottom of the page.

Answering questions

Within the Assessment, select the answers that most accurately describe your organization’s response. Your answer will be highlighted in blue, and it will be saved.  To remove your answer for the question, click the currently selected answer again to unsave.

What if i can’t answer a question?

There may be technical terms you are unfamiliar with that are used as part of some questions. These terms are highlighted in blue and a definition will pop up if you hover over the term.

If you are unsure how to interpret the question or how to answer for your organization, allow us to help.  You can schedule a call with or email the cyber concierge to ask about all things cybersecurity no matter how big or small. Contact Cyber Concierge for personalized assistance (included with your subscription).

For questions that would be better answered by someone else on your team, click on the “Skip Question' button at the bottom to move on to the next question. The question will be marked unanswered for you and your team to revisit at a later time.

Navigating on the questionnaire

To navigate to the immediate next and previous question, use the navigation arrows at the bottom of each question section. If a question is unanswered, the forward arrow will be labeled skip and will take you to the next question without answering the current question.

To navigate to any of the other Cyber Maturity questions, click on the questions area in the top right corner. Doing so will bring up a drop-down of all the questions which you can use to select a question to jump to.

To navigate back to a security area introduction at the beginning of the section, click on one of the security areas buttons in the top left corner of the question. Doing so will jump you to the introduction of the security area you selected: People, Process or Technology. Another way to get to these security area introductions is by clicking on the questions area in the top right corner. Doing so will bring up a drop-down of all the questions and security areas which you can use to select a security area introduction to jump to.
